Job summary

Fennies Sutton is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the Nursery Chef in preparing nutritious meals for children in a safe, high-quality kitchen. This entry role offers training, development and a supportive team environment.

You will assist with meal prep, maintain hygiene standards and help manage kitchen organisation in a Monday-to-Friday schedule with paid annual leave. Full training and mentoring are provided to help you grow with Fennies.

Qualifications

• No nursery experience required; training will be provided.
• Reliable, hard-working and well-organised with a proactive approach.
• Able to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing fresh, healthy meals and snacks for children.
• Support the Nursery Chef with food preparation and service.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Manage kitchen organisation, cleaning and stock rotation.
• Ensure allergens and dietary requirements are followed.
• Contribute to a positive mealtime experience for children.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the nursery kitchen, helping to create nutritious, balanced meals that support children’s health, development and enjoyment of food.

You will:

• Assistwith preparingfresh, healthy meals and snacks for children each day
• Maintainhigh standardsof food safety,hygieneand cleanliness
• Help with kitchen organisation,cleaningand stock rotation
• Support the Nursery Chef with food preparation and service
• Ensure all allergens and dietary requirements are followed carefully
• Contribute to a smooth and positive mealtime experience for children
