Job summary

Cherubs Sutton in Ashfield is seeking a Nursery Housekeeper to keep surfaces, floors and nursery areas sparkling and welcoming for children.

Shifts start at 15 hours weekly during probation (3pm–6pm), then may be 5am–8am or 5pm–8pm. Role includes COSHH awareness, DBS requirement, and three paid Saturday Training Days per year with a fundraising event.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning or housekeeping is advantageous.
• Ability to follow health and safety guidelines and COSHH where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Clean all surfaces, floors and nursery areas to maintain a sparkling, welcoming space.
• Vacuum, sweep and mop, empty litter bins and manage waste appropriately.
• Assist with nursery laundry and ensure hygiene standards are met.
• Adhere to company guidelines and complete weekly checklists.

What you’ll be doing

• Clean all surfaces including tables, chairs, shelves, sinks, windows and doors – paying special attention to “high contact” areas including security access panels, door handles and light switches.
• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of all areas.
• Empty all litter bins and remove waste from the setting, disposing of it appropriately in either general waste, recycling or sanitary bins.
• Ensure all high and low level dusting is completed, including underneath furniture.
• Assist with the daily washing of nursery laundry including washing, drying and storage.
• Clean all areas of the nursery including toilets, kitchen, play rooms and staff areas.
• Complete all duties in accordance with the setting and company guidelines, completing weekly diary sheets and checklists where applicable.
• Be aware and comply with all COSHH documents and their contents.
• Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and any other person who may be affected by your activities.

As part of this role, you will be required to attend 3 paid Saturday Training Days every year (January, May and September) along with an annual fundraising event for your nursery that also takes place on a Saturday.
