As our ideal nursery practitioner, you will be flexible and creative with strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. You will have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and be passionate about child development. It is a must for this role to hold Level 3 Early Years and Childcare qualifications e.g. NNEB, CACHE, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education.

Key Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Montessori approach is desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS are essential.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted guidelines and Welfare requirements is essential.
  • A detailed understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection is essential.
  • Considerable relevant experience in the age range 2 - 5 years is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the key person systems and record-keeping is desirable.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children and their parents.
  • Ability to communicate and work in partnership with families and carers.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration qualities.
  • Good written and verbal skills for report writing, maintaining child records, and providing feedback to parents/carers and colleagues

Key responsibilities:

You will be a key person to a specific group of children and be responsible for liaising with parents on all aspects of their child's care and development. This position involves monitoring children’s development, and progression and planning their next steps.

Purpose of role

  • To be responsible for the planning and delivery of an inclusive Montessori or EYFS curriculum suitable to meet the children’s individual needs.
  • To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, and social care and education for the children.
  • To give support to the team
  • To implement the Early Years Foundation Stage and ensure all the children’s individual needs are met and all areas of development are encouraged through play.
  • To observe and assess children’s development and keep an accurate record of their achievements.
  • To tidy and clean the site regularly

Qualifications and Documentations:

  • Level 3 Childcare qualification is essential, and QTS is desirable.
  • Montessori Early Childhood Teaching Diploma is desirable
  • First Aid training is a must
  • Safeguarding training is desirable
  • Updated Enhanced DBS is a must
