Nursery Deputy Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the MiChild group. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Deputy Manager to work at our beautiful Village Nursery, based in Lees, Oldham.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the managers daily.
  • Split time equally between room-based and office-based work to support the management team.
  • Work as part of the nursery team.
  • Drive quality within all rooms and role model outstanding practice daily.
  • Make decisions on the day-to-day running of the nursery in the absence of a Manager.
  • Follow all nursery administrative procedures.
  • Be a positive role model to staff throughout the nursery.
  • Have thorough knowledge of nursery policies and procedures.
  • Assist in staff training within the nursery.
  • Manage staffing levels and deploy staff as needed when the Manager is absent.
  • Attend management team meetings.
  • Be flexible with shifts and stay behind if necessary to cover staff sickness.
  • Perform fire checks, read meters, conduct risk assessments, and maintain housekeeping.
  • Ensure the nursery meets the standards set by the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Monitor safeguarding issues following local authority procedures.
  • Prepare for Ofsted inspections and implement recommendations to achieve at least a good grade.
Requirements
  • Level 3 in Childcare or higher.
  • Previous management experience in a nursery environment.
  • Enthusiasm, professionalism, and creativity.
