Job summary

Flow Recruitment Ltd is assisting a client in recruiting a Senior Deputy Nursery Manager. The role centres on delivering high-quality care, implementing EYFS, safeguarding, and guiding a nursery team to excellence.

You will oversee planning and record keeping under EYFS, foster strong partnerships with parents and carers, liaise with Local Authority bodies, keep abreast of policy changes, and assist the Manager with accounts, management information and staff/parent meetings and events.

Qualifications

• A childcare and education qualification equivalent to NVQ level 3.
• Experience managing a room or team within a nursery.
• Sound understanding of the EYFS.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EYFS planning and record keeping.
• Promote partnerships with parents/carers.
• Develop professional relationships with Local Authority and regulators.
• Stay updated on childcare and education policy developments.
• Assist with nursery accounts and management information.
• Support with staff meetings, planning and parent events.

Senior Deputy Nursery Manager – Qualifications & Experience

• A childcare and education qualification equivalent to NVQ level 3
• Previous experience of managing a room or team within a nursery setting
• A formal management qualification is desirable although not essential
• A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• A thorough knowledge of safeguarding procedures

Senior Deputy Nursery Manager – Key Responsibilities

• To support the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage, including overseeing planning and record keeping
• Promote and facilitate partnership with parents/carers and other family members
• Support with the development of and maintaining highly professional working relationships with relevant Local Authority departments, regulatory bodies and other agencies
• Remain abreast of current developments in childcare and education policies and practices
• Assist the Manager with maintaining accurate accounts for the nursery and produce management information in accordance with company procedures
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of regular staff, planning and parent meetings and other events.
