We are looking for an inspiring and organised Deputy Nursery Manager to join a thriving, supportive nursery team in Romford. About the Role:

The role is a mix of room-based and supernumerary time, supporting the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, leading staff, and maintaining high-quality care and education for all children. We see our Deputy Managers as future Nursery Managers so there’s a real opportunity for career progression.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the Nursery Manager in day-to-day operations, including rotas, staffing, and health & safety.
  • Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Leading, motivating, and developing your team.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers, building strong relationships.
  • Ensuring an engaging, safe, and stimulating learning environment for children aged 0-5.
  • Maintaining accurate records of children’s development and wellbeing.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification or higher.
  • Strong leadership experience in early years settings (Deputy Manager experience preferred).
  • Confident managing a team and stepping up in the Manager’s absence.
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and Birth to 5 Matters.
  • Minimum 2 years nursery experience.
