Knowledge and Experience:

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 Qualification in Early Years Education
  • Minimum 1 year room Management experience
  • Minimum 3 years' Nursery experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance.
  • Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to: child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities and SEN/Inclusion

Responsibilities and Duties include

  • To support the Head Teacher/Manager to manage the provision of the nursery ensuring that children, parents, and the staff team work together to provide high quality childcare.
  • To assume DDSL responsibilities for the Nursery and be accountable for ensuring all safeguarding duties and reporting are delivered in line with both internal polices and legislative requirements to maintain the safety and wellbeing of children in your care.
  • To be responsible for the management of day-to-day financial operations within the nursery, by meeting financial targets and managing the occupancy ensuring maximum capacity.
  • To manage a staff team effectively taking responsibility for the performance and development of all employees, including recruitment and retention and monitoring HR issues including dealing with underperformance.
  • To support with the setting of nursery goals and monitor the achievement of progress against targets.
  • To monitor and assess the quality of provision ensuring that policies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained.
