Nursery Crop Manager
Nursery Crop Manager – Essex- Competitive Salary + Accommodation

The Job:
A well-established commercial nursery is seeking a Nursery Crop Manager to take the lead on crop production across multiple sites. The role focuses on producing high-quality plants in a cost-effective and efficient manner while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:

  1. Overseeing plant production operations across nursery locations
  2. Collaborating with commercial teams for timely procurement of seeds and materials
  3. Forecasting crop volumes and planning crop trials to meet production goals
  4. Monitoring pest, disease, and weed control in line with industry hygiene and safety standards
  5. Ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements (e.g. LEAF, Red Tractor)
  6. Supervising and developing crop production teams, including performance and holiday planning
  7. Managing nursery equipment use and site cleanliness
  8. Providing regular updates, stock tracking, and end-of-season reports to senior leadership
  9. Supporting knowledge-sharing and training across departments on best horticultural practices
