Job summary

Childbase Partnership Limited invites applications for a Nursery Cook at our Redbourn nursery. The role is permanent, 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, with shifts 08:00–16:30. Salary ranges £25,330.50–£31,200 per annum (pro-rata) or £12.99–£16.00 per hour, depending on hours worked.

You will prepare wholesome meals for up to 80 children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, follow dietary requirements, and uphold high hygiene standards. We offer generous leave, rewards, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Professional catering experience preparing wholesome meals for children.
• Knowledge of COSHH, allergens, manual handling and environmental health legislation.
• Food Hygiene training and commitment to 5-star hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a range of meals from a set-menu using fresh ingredients.
• Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and allergies; provide suitable alternatives.
• Lead and mentor Kitchen Assistant and manage kitchen budget in partnership with Nursery Manager.
