A recruitment agency in London is seeking a Nursery Chef to prepare healthy meals for children. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a nursery setting and understands child nutrition. Nursery Chef – SE21 London | 35 Hours per Week
Location: SE21, London
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: £23,200 – £24,200
Are you a passionate and experienced chef who loves creating nutritious and delicious meals for children? We’re looking for a dedicated Nursery Chef to join our friendly team at a warm and welcoming nursery in London, SE21.
About the Role:
As our Nursery Chef, you’ll be responsible for planning and preparing healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0–5, ensuring all dietary requirements and allergies are catered for. You’ll play a key role in promoting healthy eating habits from a young age and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for children daily
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen in line with food safety regulations
• Manage stock control and place food orders within budget
• Ensure all dietary needs, allergies, and food preferences are catered for appropriately
• Keep accurate records, including food temperatures, cleaning schedules, and allergy information
About You:
• Previous experience as a chef or cook, ideally within a nursery, school, or care setting
• Knowledge of child nutrition and portion sizes for early years
• Food Hygiene Level 2 (minimum) – Level 3 preferred
• A genuine passion for cooking and working in an environment with young children
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to working if not already in possession of one that is registered to the update service. The cost of a DBS would be put forward to the applicant.
