Job Title: Nursery Chef

An experienced Nursery Chef is being sought at The Hyde Nursery in High Barnet. We are looking for a skilled Chef to join our team in creating delicious culinary experiences for our children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, a good awareness of nutrition and healthy eating, and will ensure high standards of food safety and quality. The role is based on a 38-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with a salary up to £29k depending on experience, plus great benefits. The nursery is well-connected by transport links.

The Hyde Nursery is part of the CC Nurseries Group, located in the iconic Hyde Institute building in High Barnet. Registered for 88 children, our lovely setting is minutes from green spaces, which we utilize in all weather, along with access to outdoor gardens through the nursery.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Food & Hygiene Level Certificate Level 3 (or at least Level 2)
• Proven experience as a Chef
• Experience cooking and preparing meals for 70 children
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food production, and culinary techniques
• Excellent leadership skills to motivate and inspire a team
• Proficiency in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff at all levels
