Job Description: Nursery Support Staff

To provide support to the Nursery Manager, ensuring the highest level of service is delivered to customers, while leading staff in providing a professional, caring, and nurturing environment that incorporates teamwork and nursery values.

What do you have to achieve?

  1. Support the nursery in delivering excellent service to customers.
  2. Assist the nursery in achieving targets set by the Manager and the business.
  3. Help the Nursery Manager and team maintain high standards of childcare.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Act as the Acting Manager in the absence of the Manager, raising concerns with the management team.
  2. Ensure staff punctuality and appropriate dress code.
  3. Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring staff follow nursery procedures and policies.
  4. Keep accurate and confidential records for staff, children, and parents.
  5. Support Room Leaders in leading their teams effectively, with good time management and leadership skills.
  6. Ensure designated roles are performed correctly and professionally.
  7. Coordinate with the management team on employee administration.
  8. Facilitate staff training under the direction of the Manager.
  9. Assist Room Leaders with daily administrative duties and monitor their support to staff.
  10. Utilize general computer skills effectively.
  11. Welcome parents, children, and visitors warmly.
  12. Communicate effectively in person, in writing, and over the phone.
  13. Work closely with the Nursery Manager and Directors.
  14. Ensure staff maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the nursery environment.
  15. Perform any other duties as requested by the Manager/Deputy.

Requirements

Hold a Level 3 qualification in childcare and have experience working in a nursery. Experience in team leadership is desirable.

The candidate should be hardworking, reliable, enthusiastic, and passionate about working with children, with a thorough understanding of the EYFS and Ofsted standards.
