Job description

Job Description

Are you a level 2 or level 3 Early Years practitioner who has earned an NVQ or Cache certificate? Or perhaps an experienced nursery nurse? Are you looking for a new position? Would you prefer flexible daily employment or a long-term opportunity? Do you want to be in charge of your own timetable and work whenever you want?

We are currently recruiting for day-to-day Nursery Assistants to support our primary schools in Kirkham. Our client's building and resources are second to none and rarely found in a primary school. Ideally, a successful candidate would be familiar with Read Write Inc. phonics and, if possible, continuous provision, which will also be desired to support long-term applications at this school.

We are seeking TA and special support assistants to carry out the following duties:

  • Provide in-class support for the whole class, identified individual students, or small groups of students (e.g., 4-5 students).
  • Under the direction of a class teacher or SENCO, develop and lead small group work.
  • Assist in upholding standards of behaviour across the class.
  • Help deliver and produce teaching and learning materials for students, including differentiating the materials.
  • Provide regular feedback to the class teacher and SENDCO or relevant line manager.
  • Support the teacher with setting up the class, including daily activities, continuous provision, display boards, pupil journals, and workbooks.

Benefits of working with Randstad:

  • Exclusive access to temporary and permanent roles.
  • DBS and school application support.
  • Support to edit, draft, and re-brand your CV and profile to enhance application success.
  • Review of your AWR period by a dedicated consultant.
  • Focused support in finding suitable roles and sourcing work.
  • Free career advice.
  • Online access to bookings via an app system.
  • Online training and CPD opportunities.
  • Safeguarding Level 1 & 2 training available.
  • Free payroll service with no umbrella charges, following PAYE.

Essential requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications (L2/3 TA, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
  • Classroom experience.
  • Two references from the last 5 years, including one full child-based safeguarding reference.

Desired:

  • DBS on the update service. All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. We can assist if your DBS is not on the update service.
