Job summary

Hillier Nurseries Ltd seeks an enthusiastic outdoor Nursery Assistant for our Liss site, offering training across the tree growing process in our established open ground nursery. You will gain hands-on experience with a wide range of trees and tasks, under the guidance of our production team in all weather conditions.

The role is fixed-term through the busy trading period and includes a 39-hour week with over-time rates for weekend work; entry is by experience, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Passion for horticulture or arboriculture.
• Self-driven and motivated with excellent attention to detail.
• Proactive personality and ability to work in a team.
• Must be physically fit for outdoor, manual work.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plant husbandry.

Job description

We are recruiting an enthusiastic and dependable outdoor Nursery Assistant to join the team at Liss in our open ground, tree production nursery. You will have the opportunity to work with an established and renowned brand within the horticulture industry, growing your skills and experience with our knowledgeable production team.

Rounded outdoor role offering training into every stage of the tree growing process, you will get hands on experience with a massive range of trees and tasks.

If you enjoy working outdoors and have a passion for horticulture or arboriculture this is an ideal role. Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, all year (PPR provided).

This is a fixed-term role to cover business requirements through the busy trading period, expected to end on 30.04.2027, although this may be reviewed depending on business needs. The role offers guaranteed 39 hours per week. Hourly rate of pay up to £13.35 per hour dependant on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Plant husbandry
• Physically demanding outdoor workload
