Nursery Assistant / Early Years Educator

Pyramid8 is delighted to be supporting a non-for-profit organisation based in Pontefract. The nursery strives to put the wellbeing of their employees at the heart of what they do. As a Nursery Nure, you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the planning of a program of activities in your designated area.
  • Working alongside parents to ensure full integration within the nursery, tailored to the child's needs.
  • Supporting all staff and engaging positively within a team.
  • Supporting volunteers in the setting and encouraging their professional development.
  • Liaising with and supporting parents and other family members.
  • Being flexible within nursery working practices, including undertaking domestic tasks such as snack preparation and equipment cleaning.
  • Collaborating with the manager and staff team to uphold the nursery's philosophy.
  • Considering the nursery as a whole, being aware of the needs of all children.
  • Developing reflective practice and being open to personal and professional growth.
  • Providing a high-quality environment that meets the needs of children from diverse cultures, religious backgrounds, and developmental stages.
  • Ensuring mealtimes are pleasant social occasions that cater to individual needs.
  • Upholding the nursery's high standards at all times.

Experience needed:

  • Level 3 qualification in a recognised childcare field, deemed relevant by the DFE and Ofsted.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Basic food hygiene certification.
  • Paediatric first aid certification.
  • Level 1 safeguarding qualification.

In return, you will receive an hourly rate of £13.18, working Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. The latest finish time is 4pm or 5pm, with an earliest start of 8am.
