We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Assistant to join the dedicated team on a full basis. The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the nursery, assisting in the care, education, and development of young children.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of engaging and age-appropriate activities to support children's learning and development.
  • Providing a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel safe, secure, and valued.
  • Supporting children with personal care tasks, including feeding, changing, and toileting, in line with safeguarding and health and safety policies.
  • Supervising and interacting with children during indoor and outdoor play, promoting exploration, creativity, and physical development.
  • Fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open communication and collaboration.
  • Contributing to observations and assessments of children's progress and development, recording observations and maintaining accurate records as required.
  • Supporting the implementation of nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour management.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of a clean, tidy, and stimulating learning environment, including setting up and tidying away resources and equipment.
  • Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children in a nursery, preschool, or early years setting.
  • A passion for working with children and supporting their development and well-being.
  • A warm, caring, and patient approach to working with young children, with the ability to build positive relationships and provide emotional support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with others to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs and routines of the nursery.
  • Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.

Notes:

  • Setting open all year round, 51 weeks.
  • Can take holiday within/outside of term time.
  • ASAP start.
