Job summary

CleverClogs Nursery is seeking a warm and enthusiastic Nursery Apprentice who is passionate about working with children and eager to undertake a Level 3 Early Years qualification. You will be part of a team that cares for children and maintains a high‑quality, stimulating learning environment.

You will support development, health and well‑being, build relationships with children and families, and work toward safeguarding and outstanding Ofsted potential with the support of management.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths/English or equivalent, or willingness to work towards functional skills.
  • On‑the‑job training to achieve Level 3 EY Educator apprenticeship.
  • Level 3 EY Educator syllabus includes Diploma, first aid, and maths/English.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and high quality care for children.

Job description

CleverClogs Nursery is seeking a warm and enthusiastic Nursery Apprentice who is passionate about working with children and eager to undertake a Level 3 Early Years qualification. To be considered for this role, you must have a genuine love for children and a nurturing, caring approach. Our Nursery Apprentices are part of our team who are capable individuals with a responsibility for caring for children and maintaining a high quality, stimulating learning environment. They are warm and responsive, working flexibly and effectively as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.

  • Promote positive relationships in the setting.
  • Promote the health, safety and well-being of the children.
  • Support the children's development, learning and play.
  • Support key persons carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a group of children and their families; once confident be responsible for a small cohort of children within the room with the support of the staff and management.
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of team work.
  • To be a role model and be able to showcase high quality practice with regards to individual and group work with children.
  • To take responsibility alongside the Nursery Management Team for the safety, security and well-being of all children, staff and visitors at all times.
  • To ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed in line with Local Authority and Company procedures.
  • To support the Nursery Management Team in supporting the nursery to reach an 'outstanding' grade with Ofsted.
  • To embrace, understand and promote The Cheshire Day Nursery Group and to understand the role you play as part of the team to provide high levels of care and education.

You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
