We are looking for a nursery apprentice to join an amazing nursery located in Eltham, London SE9 2JY.
Aims
- Provide high standards of care and education to meet the individual needs of all children, with support.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.
- Develop positive working relationships with staff, parents, and carers.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Act as a positive role model.
- Contribute to maintaining high quality standards within the nursery, including practice, environment, and resources, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Prepare and supervise activities with support.
- Supervise and support children at all times.
- Ensure equality of access and opportunity for all children, parents, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain children's safety and report safeguarding concerns.
- Maintain a positive attitude with children, parents, colleagues, and visitors.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and carers.
- Ensure confidentiality where appropriate.
- Follow health and safety policies, and undertake shared responsibility for cleanliness and safety.
- Work as part of a team to uphold the company's values.
- Attend meetings and training as required.
- Perform any other duties reasonably requested by the line manager.
Qualifications
GCSE grades 5-9/A-C.
Skills and Competencies
- Confident communication with adults and children.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and report issues appropriately.
- Creative thinking to inspire learning.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.

Experience Required
- Experience and commitment to outdoor learning, e.g., Forest School.
- Experience supporting children in a nursery setting.
- Experience communicating with parents and carers.
- Experience using technologies like Interactive White Boards and iPads for teaching and assessment.
- Willingness to learn and follow directions.
