Job summary

The Old Station Nursery Group is seeking an Apprentice at Little Green Rascals Elvington in North Yorkshire. This role combines hands-on child care with structured training to develop essential Early Years skills.

You’ll spend 20% of your week in training, while the rest is devoted to practical experience, helping create a nurturing environment where children learn and grow through play-based activities.

Responsibilities

• Dedicate 20% of your week to training and 80% to hands-on experience in a nurturing setting.
• Help create a warm, fun, and safe space where children thrive.
• Engage children in play-based activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Keep parents informed with regular updates on development and progress.
• Assist with daily routines, maintaining safety, hygiene, and high standards of care.

Pay: £8 per Hour

Working Hours: 40 hours- 20% off your working week will be off the job learning.

About Our Nursery

At Little Green Rascals Elvington, we are pioneers of the Organic Day Nursery concept, which is dedicated to nurturing children naturally. Surrounded by roaming animals and Winn Wood at our doorstep, we create a comforting, home-like environment. Outside, our landscaped gardens provide daily access for our Rascals to ride bicycles and scooters, engage in mud kitchen play, explore willow tunnels, experiment with giant musical instruments, climb wooden play structures, and jump into puddles of all sizes! We’re based between the village of Elvington and York, on the grounds of York Maze.
