A Nursery in Berkhamsted requires a qualified Nursery Practitioner to join their team.

They also have an opening for a Room Leader.

The nursery is open Monday to Friday from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm. You will work on a shift rota, working approximately 9 hours a day including a 1-hour lunch break.

Employment Types:

• Full-time: Monday to Friday, all year round, 40 hours per week, shifts from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm.
• Part-time: 7.30 am to 1.30 pm, Monday to Friday, all year round.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhere to the policies and procedures of the Day Nursery.
• Work as part of the nursery team and assist in any duties required.
• Ensure that the recommended staff/child ratios are maintained at all times.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times and report any health and safety concerns to the management team.
• Ensure records of the children's day are completed and details communicated to parents.
• Ensure supervision at mealtimes and adherence to all dietary requirements.
• Be available to work in any areas of the Day Nursery, undertaking the care and supervision of children and assisting in other areas to ensure smooth operation.
• Be a key person for a small number of children, providing a secure attachment, meeting care needs, planning for their development, and monitoring progress.
• Make observations on children and keep learning journals up to date.
• Participate in planning activities tailored to children's needs and developmental stages.
• Contribute to developing displays and effective working practices within the room.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers.
• In the absence of the Room Leader, support the smooth running of the room by working effectively with the team.
• Attend after-hours staff meetings to discuss nursery practices.

Salary:

• Level 2: £22,299 gross per annum
• Level 3: £24,505 gross per annum
