Job description

We are looking to build a talent pool for future Nursery Assistant and Nursery Nurse roles. If you are a qualified Level 2 or 3 Assistant/Nursery Nurse or hold an equivalent qualification, we would love to hear from you.

Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, experience working with children with special needs, and a passion for creating engaging, enriching activities.

Working hours:

We open from 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and closed between Christmas and New Year. The team work on a rota basis for 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

Band 2:

  • To provide the best possible care & stimulation for the children in meeting their physical, intellectual, emotional & social needs in a non-discriminatory manner.
  • To work in partnership with parents & encourage their involvement in the aims of the nursery & in all aspects of their child's care.
  • To provide & maintain records as necessary and appropriate, in line with the EYFS Statutory Framework.
  • To attend training courses to ensure that modern, innovative & forward-looking practices are maintained & to allow for personal career development.
  • To assist in the daily domestic management of the nursery; ensuring that the nursery is kept safe, secure & clean at all times.

Band 3:

  • Encouraging all areas of the children's development within Early Years.
  • Providing a stimulating, friendly & caring environment.
  • Demonstrating good practice with regards to special needs & inclusion, working with the nursery and area SENCO as appropriate.
  • Being a key carer carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families.
  • Working with Early Years and other professional teams to continuously improve the quality of childcare & education & to learn about current developments in childcare practice and policy.
  • Foundation Stage (EYFS) with the appropriate activities, play opportunities & actions through imaginative play & innovative programming.
  • Compiling & maintaining development records on children and report to Team Leader at agreed intervals.
