Job summary

Exemplar Health Care’s Coronation Court care home in Cannock is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to lead a nursing and care team on a designated unit, under the Clinical Nurse Manager. You’ll drive quality, oversee risks, maintain care plans, and ensure high standards of patient-centred care.

You’ll supervise medication processes, mentor Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants, and promote continuous improvement in a brand-new state-of-the-art home opened in 2025.

Qualifications

• First-level nursing registration with an NMC PIN.
• Post-registration management or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Leading your unit's care and nursing teams to meet medical, physical and emotional needs.
• Providing strong leadership to maintain high standards of care and drive improvement.
• Overseeing and managing all your unit's clinical elements and risks.
• Ensuring care plans and risk assessments are completed and updated timely.
• Acting as the Named Nurse for residents with oversight of their care profiles.
• Supervision and management of medication ordering, storage, administration, recording and disposal.

• Care home: Coronation Court
• Location: Hunter Road, Cannock, WS11 0FN
• Hours: 42 hours per week - must be flexible day and night shifts
• Rate: £25.29 per hour

The Role

As a Unit Manager with Exemplar Health Care, you’ll be at the forefront of clinical care delivery for the people living on your designated unit. No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Leading your unit's care and nursing teams to ensure we meet the medical, physical and emotional needs of the people we support
• Providing strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement
• Overseeing and managing all your unit's clinical elements and risks
• Ensuring care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect care interventions appropriately
• Acting as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review and update of their care profiles
• The supervision and management of your unit's ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medication
