The Surgery, Theatres, Anaesthetics and Endoscopy Care Group is seeking an inspirational nurse to lead Surgical Ward 3 at the Princes Royal University Hospital, part of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Surgery Ward 3 is a female surgical ward caring for patients admitted via elective and non-elective pathways, including specialties such as gynaecology and general surgery.

Our Care Group emphasizes staff development and strives to foster an outstanding care culture through robust quality and safety strategies.

Main duties of the job

  • Assume responsibility for the surgical ward and provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.
  • Lead and develop the nursing team in caring for surgical patients and assist in developing clinical competencies.
  • Provide expert, holistic care to patients and relatives within King's College Hospital.
  • Act as a clinical resource within the ward and across the Care Group.
  • Be an effective clinical leader and role model with good delegation and supervisory skills.
  • Ensure safe and high-quality nursing care for patients and relatives.
  • Undertake managerial responsibilities, ensuring staff management is safe, effective, and within budget.
  • Participate actively in recruitment and retention programs.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and ward leadership to enhance patient care and experience.
