Job description
Overview

We are looking for a Deputy Ward Manager to work on Greendale Ward at Woodview, Whalley.

Woodview opened in December 2023. Woodview Unit is a newly refurbished building on the Whalley site which has a total of 32 beds including 12 Male, 12 Female and an 8 bedded Male PICU unit. These additional beds will complement those on the Pendleview Unit, Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • To provide nurse leadership within the multidisciplinary team and ensure the effective assessment formulation planning, monitoring of care given to inpatient service users.
  • To provide leadership to oversee and ensure all contacts with service users are recorded promptly and accurately and are of a high standard.
  • Provision of information and participate as requested, to assist service development and Clinical Governance requirements e.g. surveys, audits etc.
Qualifications and requirements
  • You must have proven clinical skills along with excellent communication skills, good knowledge and understanding of adult mental health and the needs of individuals.
  • You will also need to have a working knowledge of the care programme approach, NICE guidance and enhanced risk assessment and the ability to explore issues relating to the impact of health and social needs on mental health and well-being.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
