A healthcare trust in the UK is seeking a part-time Gastroenterology nurse to provide specialist advice and facilitate high-quality care for patients. Responsibilities include assessing care paths and managing patient episodes, with a focus on Upper GI Cancer. The ideal candidate must be an NMC Registered Nurse with experience in Gastroenterology. This role promotes evidence-based practice and offers 28 hours/week work with the possibility of a fixed term until September 2026.
Main area Gastroenterology Grade NHS AfC: Band 7. The post is for a Secondment: 12 months (or Fixed Term, until 30th September 2026) with hours Part time - 28 hours per week (Monday to Friday).

To provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers without supervision in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and to provide cover for any area specified, acting as a professional role model providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research.
To provide a nurse led service offering advice and expertise within the Upper GI Cancer speciality.
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care, providing specialist advice and actively seeking evidence-based practice which will improve the quality of care.
To manage episodes of care and discharging patients as per protocol. To act as a key worker for patients in the case load, providing seamless, coordinated treatment pathway.
To work with the Upper GI Cancer team, taking an active role in involving users and carers in developing the service.
