NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is primarily 9am to 5pm (hours worked over 3 days) with some flexibility required at times. Post holders must hold a current clean driving licence.
Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
We are recruiting a part time (0.6wte) First Level RMN to join Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS Complex Trauma Pathway) in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity within a developing service. There are 4 WTE Link Nurse Therapist posts who provide support to CAMHS services in four quadrants across GGC. The four quadrants are North West & West Dunbartonshire, North East & East, South& East Renfrewshire and Renfrew & Inverclyde.
Candidates will work across all teams. Link Nurse Therapists are responsible for liaising between local Tier 3 CAMHS and the Tier 4 CAMHS Hub to promote and support care pathways for children and young people (0-18) who have experienced complex developmental trauma, whose impact is negatively affecting many aspects of their development. They may also express acute symptoms of trauma.
Key aspects of the role include Clinical Co-ordinator responsibilities. Delivering interventions indicated by mental health formulation, including system, individual and group based interventions alongside professional colleagues for the benefit of children, young people, parents and carers.
We require nurses with an understanding of children and young people’s mental health and developmental needs; who can conceptualise and formulate risk/vulnerability/complexity in these populations and function competently as a member of the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team.
Relevant post registration experience of working with children and/or young people (and their families and carers) with a range of mental health and neuro developmental difficulties is desirable.
The posts are supported by the Tier 4 MDT and training and development opportunities will be provided.
