We are recruiting for a Nurse Specialist - Anaphylaxis Radiology who share s our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

You will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,136 and a maximum payment of £1,915 per annum pro rata.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible, with the support of the manager, for the day-to- day , CT /MRI contrast Anaph y laxis emergency support.

You will be able to cannulate and hold ILS certification as well as providing training and guidance to the current radiology workforce in recognising and managing deteriorating patients.

The post holder will be working initially within the radiology department at New QE2 Hospital .

The post holder will also ensure the provision of effective, efficient and appropriate high quality patient care within the Radiology Department.

Qualifications / Training
  • First level nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register, educated to diploma level

Previous Experience
  • Significant experience caring for patients requiring outpatients nursing
  • Involvement in audit / research and willingness to present findings at meetings and conferences
Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Evidence of leadership and motivational skills, ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrates a flexible approach, able to react to the changing needs of the department.
  • Ability to use negotiating skills in a positive manner to influence change within the department.
  • Ability to liaise and work with the multidisciplinary team, making recommendations to enhance the smooth running and management of the department
  • Representing Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in their absence.
  • Understanding of scheduling and capacity.
  • Ability to manage self and others in delivery of own work and related clinical outcomes to meet department expectations
Knowledge
  • Has an understanding of managing an outpatients department.
  • Awareness of current developments in pre and post registration nursing.
  • Understanding of risk management, health and safety and other clinical governance issues
