Job summary

NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in Pre-op Assessment at University Hospital Ayr. The post is fixed-term until September 2027 and part-time at 30 hours per week. A UK driving licence is essential.

The successful candidate will assess patients, develop and evaluate care plans for those undergoing surgery, and work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure patients are prepared for their procedures.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
• Educated to degree level or actively working towards.
• Recognised qualification in clinical assessment is required.
• Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of care for a defined caseload of patients undergoing surgery.
• Collaborate with the department to assess patients individually and ensure they are prepared for their planned operative procedure.
