Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to commence a new Cardiology Nurse Practitioner service based within the Freeman Cardiology Wards, for a 1-year fixed-term or secondment opportunity. You will be involved in the provision of care for cardiology patients across the cardio clinical board, including ward rounds, assessment and review, discharge processes, including discharge letters, and non-medical prescribing. This role is essential to ensure seamless patient care and flow.

A clinical skills or Nurse Practitioner qualification is essential. Non-medical prescribing is desirable; however, we support study to gain non-medical prescribing qualification. If you meet the essential criteria, we would love to hear from you.

As a Nurse Practitioner, you should be able to:
  • Ensure the patient is the central focus of a streamlined patient journey, ensuring optimal quality of care.
  • Provide prompt responses to calls from colleagues, prioritising importance and clinical need.
  • Manage your own caseload, including assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment within defined parameters and training across the clinical board for cardiology patients.
  • Collaborate with nursing, medical, and Allied Health Professional colleagues to ensure safe patient care and smooth patient flow.
