Job Description:
Job overview

Are you a newly qualified or experienced Band 5 Nurse practitioner looking for an exciting career within Crisis Prevention House - Elysian house? If you think you may be up for the challenge, we would love to hear from you!

The post holder will guide junior colleagues in interventions on each shift and will also supervise/reflect with individual staff. They are responsible for health and safety during each shift, reporting/escalating issues to senior managers or on call if needed.

The post holder will lead some activities in the house and ensure the environment maintains the privacy, dignity, and respect of all service users. They will deputise for the House Manager when unavailable, including weekends.

Elysian House provides a vital service to those experiencing severe mental ill health in the community, offering intensive support as an alternative to hospital admission. We operate 24/7, 365 days a year.

Main duties of the job

This role is integral to our new Crisis Prevention Houses, which are therapeutic, recovery-focused, and person-centred. We aim to connect symptoms to the context of individuals’ lives, acknowledging the impact of childhood trauma, marginalisation, poverty, racism, and violence on mental health. The environment supports activities like life skills building, mental health education, wellbeing support, therapy, and creative pursuits. Our goal is to help guests recover and rebuild their lives confidently, avoiding re-traumatisation.

See attached Job Description and Person Specification for detailed role requirements and duties.
