The post holder will guide junior colleagues in interventions on each shift and will also supervise/reflect with individual staff. They are responsible for health and safety during each shift, reporting/escalating issues to senior managers or on call if needed.
The post holder will lead some activities in the house and ensure the environment maintains the privacy, dignity, and respect of all service users. They will deputise for the House Manager when unavailable, including weekends.
Elysian House provides a vital service to those experiencing severe mental ill health in the community, offering intensive support as an alternative to hospital admission. We operate 24/7, 365 days a year.
This role is integral to our new Crisis Prevention Houses, which are therapeutic, recovery-focused, and person-centred. We aim to connect symptoms to the context of individuals’ lives, acknowledging the impact of childhood trauma, marginalisation, poverty, racism, and violence on mental health. The environment supports activities like life skills building, mental health education, wellbeing support, therapy, and creative pursuits. Our goal is to help guests recover and rebuild their lives confidently, avoiding re-traumatisation.

The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) has strengthened since 2021, forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.
You may be required to work at different locations within Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, or Camden and Islington, as needed. The Trust may require staff to work at other locations temporarily or permanently.
The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, capable of working independently and as part of a team, responsible for risk assessment, care planning, and delivery. They should be confident in assessing and managing mental health and social needs, delivering therapeutic techniques, and devising care plans collaboratively with clients and their families. Working with external agencies to provide effective care is essential. Access to a personal vehicle is required.
