Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse Hysteroscopist to join our Gynaecology team. This is a newly funded post within our gynae services and we are looking to recruit an experienced nurse into our friendly, expanding and evolving hysteroscopy team. We are seeking someone who can develop and integrate this role into our services within Gynae.

The post-holder will be an advanced nurse practitioner, responsible for the management of a defined caseload and will provide highly specialist nursing support, advice, education and care to that group. They will carry continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, including setting standards of care and supporting evidence-based practice within hysteroscopy.

Responsibilities
  • Independently assess, diagnose and manage the care of women referred to the hysteroscopy clinic in accordance with National, Regional and local hysteroscopy protocols.
  • Audit the overall performance of the service against National guidelines (BSGE, NICE Jan 2007, SIGN 2002 and RCOG 2008).
  • Develop and sustain service standards of care and contribute to the establishment of evidence-based practice within hysteroscopy.
  • Provide advanced nursing support, education and care to patients within the hysteroscopy service.
Qualifications
  • Qualified nurse with NMC registration.
  • Accredited Hysteroscopist with BSGE/RCOG.
  • Current practising status with competent hysteroscopy procedural skills.
