Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is hiring a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor in Barnsley. This hybrid role leverages your clinical expertise as a nurse or allied health professional to conduct PIP assessments and write detailed reports.

The position offers a clear progression path, structured hours with no evenings or bank holidays, and a salary of £39,500–£41,000 with bonus potential. OTE up to £47,150 and a supportive hybrid setup are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD) or HCPC-registered professional.
• Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions.
• Minimum 1 year UK clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident use of digital systems with 35 WPM typing speed.
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).

• Conduct face-to-face and telephone PIP assessments with professionalism and empathy.

Are you an NMC‑registered Nurse or HCPC‑registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist ready for a change from frontline clinical work, but keen to continue using your expertise?

As a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor at Medacs Healthcare, you'll complete Personal Independence Payment (PIP) functional assessments to understand how health conditions affect everyday life. This is a non‑hands‑on clinical role centred on clinical reasoning, analysis and report writing.

The hybrid working model combines home working with time at one of our assessment centres, offering predictable hours, long‑term stability and a healthier work-life balance.

What you'll do

What we're looking for

Essential:

• Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist
