Job summary

East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a substantive Nurse Consultant for Great Tey Ward at Colchester Hospital. The post requires experience as a Nurse Consultant or in Advanced Clinical Practice and a commitment to clinical leadership.

You will contribute to a Nurse Led Model of Care, governance for advanced practitioners, and collaboration with medical teams to deliver safe, patient-centred care on orthopaedic and gynaecology wards.

Qualifications

Act as an expert clinical practitioner demonstrating advanced clinical skills and knowledge with evidence-based practice.
Work closely with Consultant bodies for professional guidance.
Demonstrate leadership in developing a Nurse Led Model of Care with governance for advanced practitioners.
Develop and lead nursing and advanced care practice standards with ward-wide applicability.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day oversight of patients across wards.
Collaborate with medical teams to ensure consultant oversight and safe patient care.
Lead on governance, clinical competency, and patient care pathways for the ward.
Support time matters philosophy and participate in digital transformation initiatives.
