Job description
Overview

This is an exciting new role within the Shaftesbury Adult Community Mental Health Team. The banded Nurse Associate will join an established MDT to provide care to residents in the North Dorset area. The post is part of an integrated health and social care team delivering care and recovery for patients experiencing difficulties with mental health.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver planned care to a defined group of patients in line with NMC standards of proficiency and Trust policies and protocols.
  • Work within the sphere of nursing and care, applying the nursing process and holistic, person-centred care.
  • Work independently under indirect supervision of Registered Nurses and within the framework of delegated tasks.
  • Contribute to assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient/service user care.
  • Plan and undertake clinical tasks guided by standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Delegate work to support workers and learners as required.
  • Supervise and line-manage band 2/3 staff and provide ongoing supervision of routine work of others.
  • Take responsibility for the training of others and may be required to deliver training.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Registration as a Nurse Associate (or equivalent) eligible to practice in the UK.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; Trust will cover the cost. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide guidance to less experienced staff/learners within the clinical environment.
  • Commitment to evidence-based, client-centred care and to working within standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Broad knowledge across the lifespan and across nursing fields to provide holistic care.
