Diabetes Specialist Nurse. Exciting new opportunity working across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire

Role: Specialist Nurse

Therapy Area: Diabetes

Package: Competitive basic salary, company car or car allowance, bonus, NMC/RCN fees, pension scheme, private health and additional package benefits

Hours: Full time - part time considered, 4 days per week minimum. Standard working day would be 8.30-5.30, but this would be dependent on the travel to the practice location

Location: Peterborough and Cambridgeshire

Are you working in primary care as a Nurse and are you passionate about the delivery of the highest quality of care to improve patient outcomes in line with National guidelines?

This is an exciting role working in the field of Diabetes supporting healthcare professionals/patients to make informed decisions about treatment pathways in Diabetes. Working in partnership with the NHS in primary care you will deliver a unique nursing programme which will focus closely on driving best practice, delivering excellent patient care and improving patient outcomes

As a specialist nurse advisor with an intimate understanding of national treatment guidelines, you will work together with patients and practices to assist healthcare professionals to deliver the most up to date care for their patients.

This role will suit a patient focused NMC registered nurse who can demonstrate experience of working in Diabetes.

Previous nurse advisory experience is desirable, together with strong interpersonal skills, and keen desire to deliver fantastic results with a consistent patient focus.

This role involves responsibility for a defined geographical area and so demands excellent planning & organisational skills along with confident driving.

The Client is leading service provider driving healthcare strategies to deliver measurable outcomes in Diabetes, Respiratory and Cardiovascular disease areas.

Qualifications

• Current (NMC) Registration

• Diabetes Diploma or Equivalent

• Full UK Driving Licence

Experience Required

• A minimum of 3 years experience (post registration) managing diabetes within primary care

• Knowledgeable and confident in the provision of education, support and advice to people with Type 2 Diabetes

• Skills and knowledge in the optimisation of oral hypoglycaemics

• IT literacy, to include primary care systems
