Job description

We are looking for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly nurse team to work across two sites for our expanding surgery. The ideal candidate will be registered with the NMC and have experience working within general practice but we are happy to train a qualified nurse to become a practice nurse.

Main duties of the job include assisting medical personnel in the care of Practice patients, working as part of the multi-disciplinary Team, and being able to work without direct supervision.

Job Responsibilities
  • Providing assessment, screening and treatment services and health education advice
  • Organise and co-ordinate the provision of nursing services for the Practice
  • Provide nursing treatments to patients in participation with general practitioners or independently to agreed protocols
  • Provide general and specific health screenings to the Practice patients
  • Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments with referral to GPs as necessary

Experience

  • Experience of working within a nursing team
  • Experience of working in primary care (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a GP practice (desirable)
