Job summary

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is recruiting for a registered nurse to join our dedicated team delivering children’s palliative care. The role involves working in a 24/7 environment with day, night and community shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

A full UK NMC registration and driving licence are essential. The post offers a permanent contract and operates across Band 5/6 with salary £32,073–£48,117 FTE depending on experience.

• Experience in children’s palliative care is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to babies, children and young people with life‑threatening conditions.
• Work within a multidisciplinarity team to deliver high quality, safe and compassionate care.
• Take part in training, supervision and development opportunities to enhance palliative care skills.
• Support families and manage care plans across hospital and community settings.

Our service is provided in a 24/7, 365 day environment; shifts include weekend & Bank Holidays

Shift Pattern:

Our standard shift structure is 12 1/2 hour shifts (includes unpaid break)

• Day Shift - 7:30am-8:00pm
• Night Shift - 7:30pm-8:00am
• Homecare Shift - In the community (Hours vary)

Enhanced Rates - Weekends, Evenings & Bank Holidays

• +30% Saturdays & Evenings
• +60% Sundays & Bank Holidays
• Competitive on-call rates

Permanent Contract

£32,073 - £48,117 FTE per annum, dependent on experience

Care Salary Band: 5/6

Appointment to Band 5 or 6 is based on nursing skills, experience and knowledge

We welcome applications from registered Children’s, Adult or Learning Disabilities Nurses who have experience of working with children and want to work within a multidisciplined team to further their experience or develop skills working in children’s palliative care.
