Job summary

NUVIA UK is seeking a Site Operative to safely undertake plant operations, decommissioning and dismantling at Aldermaston, with occasional travel to other sites. The role supports UK defence and nuclear infrastructure projects, in a safety-critical environment with emphasis on procedures, team collaboration and continuous development.

The position is permanent with steady career growth, a strong safety culture and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Classified radiation worker
• Basic radiological awareness training
• Practical knowledge of radiological conditions and contamination assessments
• Practical knowledge of PPE, RPE and radiological monitoring systems
• Practical knowledge of lifting/slinging operations
• Ability to work to written procedures to minimise risks

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate plant, equipment and facilities
• Dismantle and size reduce plant and equipment
• Care & maintenance: undertake plant checks and housekeeping
• Environment: control, minimise and process radioactive waste
• Preparation of work areas, materials and equipment
• Plant Operations: operate process plant and materials handling equipment
