Job summary

Amey is seeking an On-Site Electrician for our Nuclear Restoration Services at Hunterston A, West Kilbride (KA23 9RA). The role covers planned and reactive electrical maintenance in a highly regulated nuclear environment, with 37 hours per week (07:30–17:15, Mon-Thu).

You will hold a Time served Electrician status with valid CSCS/ECS/Gold card, and be familiar with 18th Edition regulations. BPSS checks are required for employment.

Qualifications

• Time served Approved Electrician with in date CSCS/ECS/Gold card.
• SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (SCQF Level 7) or an approved equivalent qualification.
• IEE 18th Edition Regulations
• Testing & Inspection 2391/2395/6 (desirable)
• Experience in dealing with all types of electrical installation work.
• Ability to undertake all facets of maintenance and installation works within the scope of the contract.
• Be pro-active and can anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.
• Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems.
• Ability to effectively prioritise own workload.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical equipment and services to health & safety standards.
• Monitor preventive maintenance procedures for equipment.
• Record inspection reports and remedial work in logs.
• Undertake electrical repairs and installations as required.
• Perform electrical inspection and testing as planned.
• Manage documentation accurately and on time.
• Attend training and appraisal activities as required.
• Undertake additional duties in line with capabilities.
