Job Description:

Jacobs is seeking multiple Nuclear Safety Case Engineers to support major UK and European nuclear projects, including Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, and new developments in SMR technology and Poland's first nuclear power station. These roles involve advising project teams and the Responsible Designer on safety case adequacy, with responsibilities including understanding safety case elements related to internal hazards and fire protection, supporting hazard topics, interfacing with EDF Nuclear Services, and developing or reviewing safety strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand safety case elements related to internal hazards and fire protection/life safety
• Support internal hazards and fire safety topics
• Interface with technical leads inside EDF Nuclear Services
• Review design basis internal hazards/fire assessments
• Develop strategies for managing risks from internal hazards
• Assist in developing changes to the safety case
• Maintain relationships with engineering and regulatory bodies

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent in physical science, maths, or engineering
• Chartered engineer status (desirable)
• Experience in complex safety case management within the nuclear industry, focusing on hazards safety, fire protection, and life safety
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Strong decision-making skills for safety case issues
• Excellent communication skills and relationship-building abilities
