Job description

We are looking for an experienced Radiological Assessor to join our growing Warrington based team.

Background
Risktec formed in 2001 and has built a strong track record for delivering cost-effective solutions for our clients. The first office was Warrington, and this is still our principal office, and over the years we opened a number of offices across the UK and worldwide. This organic expansion has ensured we are physically close to our clients – a key ingredient of our success – and has allowed us to attract and retain highly talented individuals who align with our culture and values.
Our Warrington team has a well-established track record providing safety / security expertise and advice to a wide variety of nuclear facilities from fuel manufacture (e.g. Urenco and Westinghouse), generation (EDF Energy), waste management (Sellafield, NRS and NWS), new build (HPC and SZC), Small Modular Reactors (Holtec, Nucleo, Last Energy). Alongside this we have a growing international nuclear business with ongoing projects and exciting opportunities in countries such as Norway, Australia and Canada.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Providing specialist technical input and advice on safety case development to support delivery of projects.
  • Leading assessments and setting out strategies for delivery of projects for nuclear facilities supported by a dynamic and supportive team.
  • Supporting the development of the nuclear business by engaging with clients, preparing proposals for new work and advising others on approach.

Role requirements:

  • Experience in delivering and/or supporting documentation to support nuclear safety cases is essential, including a strong background in performing radiological assessments and/or hazard analysis reports for nuclear facilities.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of chemotoxic and/or environmental assessments would be beneficial.
  • Clear communication skills are essential, both verbal and written, and strong organisational skills and attention to detail are critical.
  • Ability to work under own initiative to deliver project requirements, whilst also being able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Able to travel within the UK (and abroad).

What we offer
You will be part of a supportive and inclusive culture at Risktec, implemented through our shared company values of teamwork, integrity, empowerment and solutions. Our aim is to ensure that all employees and job applicants are given equal opportunities to reach their full potential.
We offer a competitive package of salary and benefits, including:

  • Car allowance (dependent on grade).
  • Profit share.
  • Company pension contributions.
  • Flexible and hybrid working.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Health and wellbeing – digital GP, access to wellbeing app and support.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
  • Sustainable benefits such as salary sacrifice electric vehicles and cycle to work schemes.

Additional Information:
Due to the nature of the work, the candidates must have a suitable background that will allow them to achieve UK security clearance (please note that this is very difficult to achieve within the timescales for non UK nationals and you will be subject to a screening process prior to interview to ensure that you meet the security clearance criteria).
