About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer with expertise in welding and pressure mechanical engineering. This role will support multiple projects across the UK, including existing generation, nuclear de-fuelling, nuclear new build, nuclear decommissioning, and nuclear defence. A background in the nuclear environment is a bonus but not essential.

Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting multiple projects within the UK-wide project portfolio, which may include various nuclear and energy projects.
  • Providing engineering input into conformity assessment, safety case verification, and inspection activities in the nuclear domain (and other energy domains like wind when requested).
  • Defining standard inspection processes and procedures.
  • Producing and/or approving procedures and technical specifications.
  • Contributing to the production of Project Execution Plans and quality manuals as required.
  • Playing a central technical role within project delivery, requiring good communication and technical management skills.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external customers, understanding their requirements and expectations.
  • Driving continuous improvements within the department.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with applicable accreditations.
Experience & Skills Required:
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing techniques, welding procedure development, and review in a highly regulated industry.
  • Extensive experience in areas such as inspection, design verification, welding, NDT, nuclear safety, pressure vessels, or PSSR.
  • Experience managing stakeholders and influencing negotiations, especially in technical discussions.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of nuclear quality requirements or other highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge and application of ISO 9001 standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with staff at all levels and across disciplines.
Qualifications Required:
  • An Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline.
