Engineers at AtkinsRéalis are at the heart of delivering transformative projects in the UK nuclear industry, reducing carbon emissions whilst achieving future energy security. Your work will span across areas including new nuclear power station design, developing fusion technologies, or implementing new nuclear waste management processes. AtkinsRéalis is looking to grow our team of process engineers within the Nuclear & Power business. We work collaboratively to solve technical challenges across the entire project lifecycle, from concept design to decommissioning. Our day to day activities include production of various process engineering deliverables (process sizing calculations, heat & material balances, P&IDs, etc.), process modelling, and process safety activities (HAZID/HAZOP studies, DSEAR assessments, etc.).

Responsibilities
  • Produce process engineering deliverables (process sizing calculations, heat & material balances, P&IDs, etc.).
  • Perform process modelling and process safety activities (HAZID/HAZOP studies, DSEAR assessments, etc.).
  • Collaborate across the AtkinsRéalis business to provide technical expertise and deliver effective engineering solutions for clients.
  • Support delivery through a variety of means, including embedded resource within client offices, site-based roles, and in-house engineering support from AtkinsRéalis offices.
  • Maintain a focus on delivering high-quality work to the client and communicating effectively in written and verbal form.
Qualifications and qualities
  • BEng/MEng in Chemical Engineering, working towards Chartership with the IChemE.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry is useful but not required; willingness to learn from other industries is welcome.
  • Experience in chemical process simulation software to design, optimize, and troubleshoot chemical processes.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and with clients.
