Job Overview
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, full time Band 6 radiographer or technologist to join our busy, friendly Nuclear Medicine team at North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT). We provide a comprehensive Nuclear Medicine service to a wide range of specialities within the hospital, including examinations such as melanoma and penile scintigraphy, breast SNL procedures, lung scans, renal studies, cardiac and brain imaging.
Normal working hours are 9-5 Monday to Friday and occasional Saturday working; however, we are considering the possibility of extended day working. Full time hours would be preferred but part time and flexible working would also be considered. Participation in weekend SeHCAT cover and occasional late shifts may be required pending clinical demand.
Candidates must hold Post-graduate Diploma in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent and a BSc Radiography or equivalent. Radiographers must also have a current Health Professions Council (HCPC) registration and technologists must be willing to submit their application for the Register for Clinical Technologists while in post (if not registered yet).

Main duties of the job
This imaging role would be suitable for those that wish to develop their Nuclear Medicine expertise and practical knowledge of the modality. You would become a vital part of our dedicated team, performing a wide range of Nuclear Medicine procedures, from patient preparation to image processing and reconstruction.
The post holder will be required to provide professional support to a multidisciplinary team that is passionate about high quality care and service delivery. We would support you in your local training and help you building up your skills, particularly if you are stepping up from a Band 5 role. You will be carrying out all relevant practical aspects required to obtain high-quality imaging and act as a point of specialist advice for a range of clinical staff, patients, and carers.

You would be working for the largest NHS Trust in the South West Region providing outstanding medical, surgical and maternity care for a population of approximately half a million people in North Bristol and the surrounding community. With a turnover of £550m and 9000 staff, our clinical teams have built a strong reputation for excellent healthcare. The Nuclear Medicine team carries out approximately 6500 examinations per year. Our current equipment includes a dedicated cardiac camera and 2 dual head gamma-cameras, one with SPECT/CT. In 2020 and 2021, the Nuclear Medicine department was awarded a Green Impact award for improving environmental / sustainability practices.
