Job summary

NRL are seeking a Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to join our team on a major UK nuclear new build project. You will support QA/QC delivery for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and project procedures.

The role requires hands-on site experience with ITPs, NCR control, and liaison with construction and commissioning teams to maintain quality records and turnover documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ QA/QC experience in major construction or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and inspection/test planning.
• Experience supporting mechanical installation and commissioning.
• Relevant site safety qualification.

Responsibilities

• Implement Quality Management System requirements and support ISO compliance.
• Review contractor quality plans, inspection plans and method statements.
• Conduct inspections and surveillance of mechanical installation and testing activities.
• Monitor and maintain quality records per project requirements.
• Witness testing activities and verify ITP completion.
• Manage non-conformance process including NCRs and root cause analysis.
• Liaise with construction supervisors, commissioning teams and client representatives.
• Support production and review of lifetime quality records and turnover documentation.
