Job Description:

One of the leading companies in the nuclear sector is looking to bring in a CAD Design Engineer with a Mechanical Bias to join the growing team working on vast projects in the nuclear space. This is one of the best and well-known projects and companies in the sector.

Role Type: Permanent
Location: Warrington
Salary: £28,000 to £38,000 depending on skills and experience

As the Design Engineer, you will be working on Nuclear Decommissioning projects as well as Nuclear New Build Projects. You could be supporting anything from Continuous at Sea Deterrent to New Build Design. Our client is one of the largest consultancies in the industry, providing opportunities for a wide variety of projects and interesting, innovative work streams, helping towards a net-zero outcome for UK energy.

Security Clearance is required for this role. You must be a UK citizen with a British Passport.

You will be a part of a high-performing design team, creating cutting-edge designs that are market-leading ideas and leading the project via excellent solution designs.

The role:

  1. Collaboration work to ensure the most effective designs.
  2. Develop innovative design solutions for installations on new builds, products for decommissioning, and for manufacturing.
  3. Create and maintain design documents meeting standards, time frames, and cost.
  4. Fulfil Design Lead responsibilities.
  5. Working to best practice on design.
  6. Assist the senior team with designs, estimates, quality control, and test procedures.

Requirements:
  1. Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice and CAD tools.
  2. Ability to own your workload and champion high performance.
  3. Experience in building rapport with key stakeholders.
  4. HNC/HND in engineering or Engineering Degree or equal experience.
