Job summary

Sizewell C Limited is seeking a Radiological Environment Specialist to provide technical and coordination support for radiological environmental permitting activities, helping to ensure compliance across a large-scale UK project.

The role involves development and maintenance of environmental case documentation, regulatory submissions, and cross-functional collaboration. The position offers hybrid working with two in-office days per week and a starting salary of £54,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant STEM discipline.
• Experience engaging with nuclear regulators or external stakeholders.
• Professional accreditation, or working towards accreditation, such as Radioactive Waste Adviser (RWA) or Chartered status.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on radioactive discharges and waste management to support compliance with the Environmental Permit.
• Support BAT application across design, procurement, commissioning and future operations.
• Contribute to environmental permitting activities, including submissions and regulator engagement.
• Assist with Environmental Protection Equipment substantiation and compliance.
• Assess environmental impact of design changes and non-conformances for high environmental protection standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to integrate environmental requirements.
• Engage with the Environment Agency and regulators, including inspections and issue resolution.
