Job summary

Astute is recruiting a Crane Engineer for Bridgwater, Somerset, to support the Hinkley Point C project on a permanent basis. The role covers electrical and mechanical installation of overhead gantry cranes, on-site fault-finding and system handovers.

Qualifications

• Requires Level 3 engineering or electrical qualification (e.g. Advanced Apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC, HNC or City & Guilds).
• Experience in nuclear or highly regulated engineering environments.
• Understanding of LOLER regulations and safe lifting practices.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and mechanical installation of overhead gantry cranes and lifting equipment per specs and programme.
• Provide on-site fault-finding, commissioning support and troubleshooting.
• Liaise with design teams to resolve discrepancies between drawings and site conditions.
• Support installation, testing and handover of crane control systems and electrical equipment.
• Maintain installation records and test documentation.
