Nuclear Core Physics Opportunities at Rolls-Royce in Derby, UK. Full-time roles within Reactor Engineering, suitable for physicists at all career stages.

Responsibilities
  1. Designing and substantiating reactor cores using deterministic and stochastic methods.
  2. Supporting the manufacture of reactor cores.
  3. Designing experiments and performing measurements in our zero-energy critical benchmarking facility.
  4. Supporting UK submarine fleet with onboard tests and trials.
  5. Collaborating with industry partners, civil nuclear, and academia.
  6. Researching and developing improvements in reactor physics, validating new methods, and exploring operational enhancements.
Candidate Profile
  • Degree in engineering, physics, or a related scientific field (undergraduate, master's, or PhD).
  • Experience in reactor physics or the nuclear industry.
  • Analytical mindset, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
