Job summary

S&B Utilities is delivering critical safety-focused support for the Sizewell C project, providing Health & Safety oversight across design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover of FTP and PWP facilities. The role partners with the Health & Safety Manager, Construction Managers, Project Managers and Contractors to implement proactive safety initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings NEBOSH Gen Cert and IOSH TechIOSH, with at least five years of HSE experience in relevant sectors.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate required.
• IOSH with GradIOSH progression desirable.
• Minimum 5 years health and safety experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities, engineering or industrial sectors.
• Experience conducting site inspections, risk assessments and contractor assurance activities.
• Strong investigations experience including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Excellent communication, report writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Desirable: nuclear, energy, water treatment, wastewater or major infrastructure project exposure.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day health and safety support to project delivery teams and contractors.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety tours to monitor compliance and identify improvements.
• Support risk assessments, RAMS reviews and implementation of control measures.
• Monitor permit-to-work systems and high-risk construction activities.
• Assist with accident, incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support contractor management, inductions and mobilisations.
• Promote workforce wellbeing and positive safety culture initiatives.
• Prepare health and safety reports, KPI data and governance documentation.
